Photograph caption dated May 20, 1986 reads, "The 28-foot D.C. Too was towed into Terminal Island Coast Guard base early today." Note: The pleasure craft capsized with six people aboard, including Desiree Rodriguez, a 9-year-old girl who withstood 12 hours in the chilly Pacific before being rescued. The bodies of her mother, Petra Rodriguez, 29, and Corinne Wheeler, 33, were recovered. Unaccounted for were her father, Thomas Rodriguez, 30; 5-year-old sister, Tricia, and Wheeler's husband, Allen Wheeler.
