Photograph caption date stamped April 13, 1965 reads "The only men in the short history of the Los Angeles Angels to hit .300 are Albie Pearson, front, .304 in 1963, and 'Wonderful Willie' Smith, rear, .301 last year. Smith will open the American League campaign in left field tonight at 8 p.m. in Chavez Ravine against the Cleveland Indians. Pearson will be on the bench."
