View of solders marching in parade on Market Street in San Francisco. A banner above the street reads: Mothers Welcome, War Camp Community Service.
2014-4823.
Celebration was held in Jan. 1919 to welcome home the 143d Field Artillery and the Grizzlies. Were met by the one-minute girls of the War Camp Community Service. A Mothers Arch was erected at Powell and Market Streets, contained thousands of white carnations, formed to make the workds "Mothers Welcome."
