Title supplied by cataloger. Dustin Shuler in front of his latest creation, a Cessna 150 nailed to a building downtown. Photograph caption reads: "Pilot to co-pilot: Do you hear that pounding? Propelling art to a higher plane must have been the intent of artist Dustin Shuler when he nailed a full-sized Cessna 150 airplane to a downtown Los Angeles building yesterday. About 30 members of the artsy set sipped drinks, munched food, and watched him. It took two hours, a large crane, and a two-ton, 20-foot nail to impale the plane on the wall of the American Gallery at 303 S. Hewitt St., where it will perch, hopefully, for the next six weeks. It was Shuler's second project using the macho nail, which he dubbed 'Tutankhamen'--because it's a two-ton common nail, get it? 'Two ton common'." Photograph dated Sept. 12, 1982.
