Bob Stone talks about his autobiography, “Confessions of a Civil Servant.” He begins by talking about how he moved from Washington D.C. to Los Angeles and did research forecasting and predicting the needs of the army. He explains that he re-wrote all the rules and regulations for army commanders and how leaders were resistant to change. He describes how he was asked to work at the White House while Bill Clinton was president, and worked with Al Gore for 6 years on reforming government. He ends the interview by talking about the changes he made such as making the government more sensitive to serving people, cutting 400,000 jobs, allowing the Food and Drug Administration to process new medication more quickly, and making government available through electronics.
