Description
Community Analysis Report No. 2 by John Embree, who was head of the Community Analysis Section; document is labeled "restricted." Report mentions events of November and December [1942] at Poston and Manzanar as spurs for deeper analysis of "problems in social relations and administration" in War Relocation Authority camps, identifying "inherent" factors as well as those relating to the program's administration that may lead to discontent and unrest. The report also identifies what it describes as "signs of trouble" in the camps, offering suggestions for improvement. The Japanese American Archival Collection documents the people, places, and daily life of Japanese Americans, primarily those who lived in the once thriving community of pre-war Florin in the Sacramento region, as well as the conditions in American incarceration camps during World War II. The approximately 7,000 original items include personal and official letters, photographs, diaries, arts and crafts, newsletters, textiles, camps artifacts, yearbooks and other publications.
