Photograph was edited for publication purposes Arthur John "Jack" Langguth was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on July 11, 1933. He was an American author, historian, journalist and educator. Langguth was South East Asian correspondent and Saigon bureau chief for The New York Times during the Vietnam war. He also wrote and reported for Look Magazine. He was Professor Emeritus of the Annenberg School for Communications School of Journalism at the University of Southern California. Langguth died on September 1, 2014. Photograph caption dated December 19, 1960 reads "Some are hesitant." The article partially reads "For an hour, on the corner of Etiwanda and Sherman Way in Reseda, the Chamber of Commerce let me play St. Nick. The result was mutual terror."
