Fifty boys from the Los Angeles area are shown on July 31, 1951, as they leave for the Youth for Christ Lifeline Boys Camp at Crestline in the San Bernardino mountains. Funds to pay the expenses of the camp are contributed by a unique "mile-of-pennies," where the public puts pennies on a mile-long strip of ticker tape. A week of recreation and fun is in store for these lads. They are waiting at Third Street and Vermont Avenue.
