'Twas the days before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring... Except a crew of 70 technicians, a production staff of 20, an orchestra, a dozen or more performers, 50 children, three manned mobile television units and thousands of feet of cable. If this sounds a little offbeat from the usual picturesque Christmas scene, it's because it took place this week at the Valley home of a very unusual (but very on-beat) family. The scene was the spacious hilltop Royal Oaks home of Steve Allen and Jayne Meadows. The occasion was the taping of Steve's Christmas television show. Pictured are Steve Allen and Jayne Meadows.
