This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco."
Text written under photo: "Lotta's Fountain-after removal of tower which surrounded it for almost two years during Liberty Loan, Red Cross and other drives. This tower was used for advertising the different drives-during the war period May 1919." Photo taken from the corner of Geary and Kearny and looking southeast shows Lotta's Fountain with the Monadnock and Examiner buildings behind. A war exhibit is going on in the bottom floor of the Monadnock. A sandwich board urging people to enlist at 660 Market Street is visible on the west side of Kearny. Streetcars, automobiles, and pedestrians abound.
