Photograph caption reads: "Although his polo playing days are ended, Dr. E. J. Phillips of Mint Canyon relived the old days when M. M. Pierce, seated, veteran Valley blacksmith, dropped in unexpectedly. Pierce shod Dr. Phillips' polo mounts when he was manager of the Greenacres Polo Club". Photograph dated: Dec. 9, 1954.
