Description
Photograph of a group of men posing at the Mullholland Highway ground breaking ceremony, Los Angeles, 1923. A man at center, possibly William Mullholland, stoops down with a shovel in his hand, driving it into the earth and looking into the camera. He wears wire-frame glasses and a longcoat and hat like many of the gentlemen around him. A second man wears a porkpie hat and knickers in contrast to the long pants of the other men who total roughly 33.
