Description
Groundbreaking ceremony for the Statler Center which later became The Omni and then The Wilshire Grand Hotel. Photo caption reads: "Celeste Holm then stood next to Governor Warren as he set power shovel in operation to start the hefty digging job. Holding spade shovel below is Arthur Douglas, Hotels Statler president. With him are other hotel officials and civic leaders". Photo dated: July 6, 1950.
