Photograph of Dr. George Wharton James with a group of about fourteen Hopi Indian children and three burros in the village of Shonguapavi, ca.1901-1907. James, who is bearded and wearing a hat is kneeling in the middle of the image with his right arm over the shoulder of a young burro. Most of the children are sitting on the other two burros which are on either side of James. An adobe dwelling is visible behind them.
