The headquarters for the Pacific Federal Savings and Loan Association, originally known as the First Federal Savings & Loan Building, was built in 1959 and demolished in 1998. The site became the Hollywood & Highland entertainment complex in 2001.
Looking northwest across Hollywood Boulevard revealing structures from west of Highland Avenue (left) to McCadden Place (right), December 1980. Visible are, from left to right, Mann's Chinese Theatre, the 12-story office building serving as the headquarters of Pacific Federal Savings and Loan Association, the Hollywood Wax Museum, a 2-story commercial building, and a multi-story office building occupied by Diamond Jim's restaurant on the ground floor. Yellow ribbons have been placed on the trees along the boulevard in honor of the Iran Hostage Crisis.
