Description
"General View of Relocation Center -- This is a general view of the Tule Lake, California, Japanese relocation center located near the California-Oregon border and 40 miles southeast of Klamath Falls, Ore. The land is an old lake bottom developed by the U.S. reclamation service. About 7,000 acres are now being used by the War Relocation Administration. Shown above is the housing area. Administration buildings and quarters for the appointed staff are at right center. All Japanese are housed and fed in the area to the rear of the central fire break (light strip through center of picture)." -- caption on photograph.
