Description
Photograph of a hill being removed at the intersection of East Third Street and Beacon Street in San Pedro, Los Angeles, ca.1920. A mobile crane is parked at the foot of the hill, which has been made into a sort of cube by excavation and soil removal. The commercial area of the town is visible along the paved roads and sidewalks behind the hill to the left and right, where the Seaman's Institute and Hendry Co. Supply Store can be seen. Earlier record file describes the area as the Port of Los Angeles.
