Description
"M'Lange and District. Colonial Work. Building a Church for Tea-planters." Group portrait of builders at a construction site, surrounded by bricks. Tea-growing was central to the M’Lange [Mulanje] district and many people were employed at tea plantations. The site of this church at Nakola (later known as St Andrews Church) was chosen to be next to the road, and also a golf course. The tea-planters also donated stained glass windows.
