Description: Photograph shows Miss Pat (Patricia Davidson) posing outside in front of a large redwood. She is probably at the YWCA's Camp Ayun Mapu in Big Basin, California.
On recto of backing paper: "Miss Pat". Miss Pat was Patricia Davidson who was hired in 1926 as general secretary. She had studied and traveled in Europe and worked for YWCAs in Virginia, North Carolina, and Santiago, Chile. From Fran Smith, "Breaking Ground:The Daring Women of the YWCA in the Santa Clara Valley, 1905-2005," (2005), p. 44. The YWCA's Camp Ayun Mapu at Big Basin near Boulder Creek attracted about 150 girls for two week sessions in the summer. From Fran Smith, "Breaking Ground:The Daring Women of the YWCA in the Santa Clara Valley, 1905-2005," (2005), p. 51. Big Basin became a state park in 1902.
