V1p288a -- v1p288b -- v1p288c. In PHOTO ALBUM-VAULT: ** fc917.9461 A3, Vol. I, page 288 top, center and bottom. These photographs are contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco." Three views of the 1913 Portola Day Parade on Market Street, all taken from different locations. Page 288 top, labeled "Portola Day Celebration 1913 ['3' written over '2'] Passing Marshall Square," shows the Seven Pines Circle No.3 ladies of the G.A.R float passing the grandstand at Marshall Square. The old Hall of Records is visible in the background. Signs adorn the buildings at the right, including one endorsing P.H. McCarthy for Mayor. Page 288 center, labeled "Portola Celebration 1913 Passing on Market at Taylor Street," shows a regiment passing that corner. Flags are flying from buildings and from the span wires holding up the streetcar wires overhead. Page 288 bottom, labeled "Potola Day Celebration 1913" below and "Grand Stand Marshall Sq." to the right, shows a float named "America," subject matter unclear, passing the Marshall Square grandstand, packed with people. The Pioneer Monument can be seen behind it.
