Gisele MacKenzie was born on January 10, 1927 in Winnipeg, Canada. She was an accomplished singer, actress and violinist and appeared on many variety shows in the 1950s and 60s, most notably The Jack Benny Show and Your Hit Parade. She hosted her own show from 1957-1958, performed on stage in several musicals, and later acted in television shows. MacKenzie was married twice and had two children. She died on September 5, 2003. Photograph caption dated May 5, 1962 reads "Singer Gisele MacKenzie, honorary mayor of Encino, displays her happiness over her new daughter, Gisele Melissa, and at being home from Cedars of Lebanon Hospital with her husband, Bob Shuttleworth. The 6-pound, 4 1/2 -ounce baby was born Monday and Miss MacKenzie left the hospital Friday."
