Description

Photograph article dated October 15, 1961 partially reads, "If neighbors ever discussed the fallout shelter situation seriously, there'd be a definite falling out among them, according to a Valley Times TODAY poll. Non-shelter owners feel it would be the civil and decent thing to share your shelter with neighbors...Shelter owners think it would be foolish and possible suicide...To set their true views, non-shelter owners were asked what they'd do if they were the shelter owners...Sheilah Sudnow, 6813 Bellaire Ave., North Hollywood, concluded, 'You'd want to help your neighbors. I'm sure they'd do it for me.'"; See images #00127068 through #00127072 for all photos in this series.
