In this July 1936 photograph, a crew constructs a revetment along an unstable portion of the Sacramento River levee. A year prior to the photograph, the California State Board of Reclamation demanded of the Federal Government greater funding of the 51,000,000 dollar Sacramento River Flood Control Project that was nearing 90 percent completion.
