Description
Republican mural, Ardoyne Avenue, Ardoyne, North Belfast, 2009. Republican memorial with beret and gloves, lilies, Tricolour and Starry Plough flags. The border consists of 38 portraits of Republican activists/IRA Volunteers; insignia of four provinces of Ireland; memorial stone to right; 'Many suffer so that some day future generations may live in justice and peace. - Vol[.] Bobby Sands M.P.'; plaque: 'This mural is dedicated to the memory of those local Republican activists who devoted their lives to the cause of Irish Freedom[.] Ar son na cise, oglaigh na hÉireann[.] Unveiled by Sinn Féin Councillors Martin Meehan and Margaret McClenaghan'; around top gable 'A, D, F Foireannacha. Cathlann3ru. Brigaid mBeal Feirste'.
