Photograph caption dated February 28, 1958 reads "Shown here taking first niche out of ground that will give Builders Emporium an additional total of approximately 12,000 square feet of selling area is Gerald Block, dynamic president of the Builders Emporium operations. Assisting Block in unique ground-breaking ceremony is Builders Emporium executive, Richard Wessler, right. New unit will be completed approximately May 30." The store is located at 5960 Sepulveda Boulevard in Van Nuys.
