Photograph caption dated October 14, 1984 reads, "A simple sign above the door of this old brick building quickly - and inexpensively - makes a downtown L.A. structure the entrance to a cop precinct in Manhattan." This is the exterior of NYPD's 16th Precinct, which is actually a warehouse in downtown Los Angeles for the TV series 'Cagney & Lacey.'
