Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated April 10, 1950 reads, "Eugene Vecsey of Sylmar displays coin and paper money collection. Some coins were minted in 16th century. Paper money is worthless, except for collector's items." The article partially reads, "When Vecsey returned to his native Hungary in 1921 to settle the estate of his father he found the considerable fortune in Hungarian monies worthless. In anticipation of his death by Russian soldiers, the elder Vecesy [sic] had hidden his banknotes and coins well, but to no avail, for the government had changed and the currencies were valueless."
