Photograph article dated November 9, 1953 reads, "In the national political spotlight today was Gleanard [sic] P. Lipscomb, shown with his wife, Virginia, and daughters, Joyce, 10 (left), and Diane, 12. Lipscomb is among four candidates for Congressman, California Twenty-fourth District, in tomorrow's special election. He's a Republican. Election is important because of scant majority Republicans now hold."
