Description
In this circa-1942 photograph, an American Legion color guard leads a massed unit of flag bearers on J Street between 12th and 13th streets. Spectators line both sides of the street, while a few observe from rooftops. Overhead banners read "Welcome Voyageurs." Visible businesses include the Senator Garage at 1209 J St., Mee Wah Laundry at 1215 J St., Frank's Buckhorn at 1217 J St., the Best Meat Company at 1224 J St., and Emigh Hardware at 1300 J St.
