This is the first part of an interview with Peter Drucker conducted by Karen E. Linkletter on June 27, 2005. Drucker discusses his early career before and during the 1929 Stock Market Crash, his move to the United States in the mid-1930s, teaching economics at Sarah Lawrence College, his consultation with General Motors, and his experiences with Alfred Sloan. According to Drucker, Sloan was against Drucker’s GM study and never approved of it.
