View of the after-effects of the Red Rock Cold Creek Canyon forest fire in the Santa Monica Mountains, showing a partially-denuded watershed. A few months before this photo was taken, the ridge in the background was as thickly wooded as the slope in the foreground. Seen from the summit of Saddle Peak Road above Fernwood, off Topanga Canyon Highway. January 26, 1937.
