Description
Photograph of a view of Furnace Creek Ranch at Death Valley, California, ca.1900/1950. An official weather station stands in the foreground, surrounded by a post-and-rail fence. A wooden framework built in the left foremost corner of the fence seems to be supporting a jar of some sort. To the right a post with numerous signs is turned away from the camera. Further back is a second, diamond-shaped sign, situated next to two spoked wagon wheels and a section of picket fence to its right. A barn and an early-style automobile can be seen in the background, surrounded by another post-and-rail fence. Large palm trees are visible to the right of the barn.
