Description
Photograph article dated May 30, 1961 partially reads, "The new Salvation Army's Men's Social Service Center, 6059 Van Nuys Blvd., "is tangible evidence that a man need never be without hope." That is the philosophy of Brigadier Eldin K. Tobin, head of the facility, who, for the past 36 years, has been dedicated to the preservation of humanity through the Salvation Army. "We are engaged in the business of rebuilding the lives of socially and physically handicapped men through the use of occupational and psychological therapy, spiritual guidance and counsel," Tobin explained." Pictured are Victor Hileman and Don Wilson can be seen repairing discarded appliances.; See image #00124175 for additional photo in this series.
