Description
Photograph of a view of Alum Rock Creek in San Jose, California, ca.1900. The thin, light water looks like smoke as it bends from the right to the foreground at center over jagged rocks that sit in the shallow bed. What appear to be thick birch trees slant over the creek with a dirt bank several feet above on the left. The bank on the right is level with the creek and also supports thick birch trees as well as small plants that blanket the rocky ground.
