Description: This photograph of J.J. Jacobs' Motor Company at 1500 K St. was taken on July 21, 1937. Jacobs came to California from his native Darby, Penn., in 1911, setting up his Sacramento Studebaker dealership in 1916. In 1934, he switched to selling Buicks and Cadillacs, which he sold until his retirement in 1966. Elmer Hubacher assumed control of the dealership soon thereafter.
