Description
Photograph caption dated December 14, 1957 reads, "Ancient hoosegow to be razed - Paul W. Lorentzen reflects on history of old Lankershim jail to be torn down to make room for new parking lot. Jail was built in 1896-97 as supplement to county jail before Lankershim, later North Hollywood, was incorporated into city of Los Angeles." The property is located at 11305 Magnolia Blvd.
