Description
This circa 1990 postcard of the Tower Bridge shows the span at night, taken from the south side with its mirror image reflected in the Sacramento River. The lights were first installed on the bridge for the August 1989 commemoration of John Sutter’s arrival on the Sacramento River in 1839 and they remained despite complaints that the lights were a nuisance to night navigation.
