Image of a fragment of a broadside with red, blue, and black text providing instructions for the procession of a parade on November 20, 1858, in New York City by the Americus Engine Company, No. 6, of New York City, in honor of the Hibernia Engine Company, No. 1, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with an ornate border and image of a tiger at top center.
Date based on item title; probable printer based on publisher information for copy held by the Library Company of Philadelphia (J.J. Bloomfield, stationer and printer, 72 Chambers Street, New York.). "The Companies will meet and form (in reverse order) at 7 o'clock, P.M. (dressed in full Fire Suits), right resting corner of Battery Place and West Street, ... to House of Engine Company No. 6, where they will be received by a grand display of Fireworks, prepared by J.W. Hadfield, Esq., of Williamsburgh; the Companies on Parade dismissed, and a National Salute fired in their honor, by the Young Americus Guard, under command of Capt. John McGee. ... The Line will Form and March in the following Order: First Division. Assistant Engineer Peter N. Cornwell, Marshal. Band. ... Ninth Division. Assistant Engineer William Hackett, Marshal.
