The San Fernando Drag Strip, in operation during the 1950s and 1960s, was located at Glenoaks Blvd. and Arroyo Avenue.
Photograph caption dated April 24, 1959 reads, "Karen Griffin of Panorama City, Miss Drag Strip, sells first tickets to Panorama City Kiwanis Club's 'Race for Lives' scheduled May 10 at San Fernando drag Strip. Assisting with sale are, from left, App Miles, Kiwanis president; Robert Beck of Panorama City, and Herb Lightfoot, Kiwanis Club publicity chairman. Proceeds from event, featuring sports, stock and hot rod cars, will be used for underprivileged children."
