Description
A woman poses in a promenade dress from 1828. The dress is black and gray with long, wide, gathered sleeves. She has a white ruff around her neck and a gray collar. Her cuffs, bodice, and skirt of the dress are all black. The sleeves, the back of the bodice, and two thirds of the way down her dress at the back are gray. The edges of the gray material are cut into spikes. Her gloves are gray and her shoes are black. She wears a white bonnet under her hat with a ruffled edge that frames her face and head. She wears a large black and gray bonnet with a large brim, and a large black and gray bow. The ends of the bow are long and gray, and drape over the front of her shoulders. She sits sideways on a fur pelt placed on a boulder, with her hands placed in her lap.
