Description
Caption published below photo in the Sacramento Bee on December 26, 1964 states: "The search and rescue bus of the Explorer Scouts of Quincy, Plumas County, inched past two huge boulders, the one on the left 35 feet high, on State Highway 70, the Feather River Canyon, one mile west of Storrie, Plumas County, midway in the canyon. The Scouts were on their way to help in the transfer of sandbags from a national guard truck from Chico, Butte County, to a Plumas County civil defense truck for use in the defense of Chester against rising water."
