Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated June 11, 1965 reads, "Mrs. Ethel Pepperman shows where hole was cut for inspection of the foundation to see that it conforms to building code." The article partially reads, "Nowhere in San Fernando Valley-or anywhere else-is there another private dwelling like the Peppermans' 'outlawed' $50,000 Northridge home, where they have resided with their children since July, 1961...it holds the dismal distinction of being described in the State Assembly's Daily Journal as 'a striking example of faulty building in California.' Since 1961, this sorry structure has in addition been the sad-sack victim of an astounding number of city building inspection 'errors' blighting it from foundation to roof."; See images #00130621 through #00130622 for all photos in this series.
