Since the election of November 1990, the electronic and print media have devoted increasing attention to the background information about redistricting and reapportionment. This essays in this volume are intended to increase public awareness of how redistricting was accomplished in the 1980s: these essays set the stage to understand the redistricting of the 1990s. These essays go state-by-state their analysis of redistricting in the 1980s.
