An eight-ton cubical sundial was presented in a ceremony in front of the new 42-story Union Bank Building, Southern California's tallest office structure, on November 17, 1966. More than 100 city and county officials attended the ceremonies. Connected General Life Insurance, which will have offices in the building, presented the sundial. View is toward the northeast, with the 4th Street overpass and the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion of the Music Center in view. Work is being done on Figueroa Street near the building. An undeveloped Bunker Hill is in the distance.
