Kay Atwood;
Born Assunta Adelaide Luigia Modotti Mondini in Udine, Friuli, Italy, in 1896. Emigrated to San Francisco in 1913 where acted on stage and film. Moved to Los Angeles where met Edward Weston becoming his favorite model. Moved to Mexico with Weston, creating photographic studio, became photographer, documenting Mexican mural movement, became active politically, joining the Communist Party.
