Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated June 14, 1962 partially reads, "Judy Higgins has been bedridden since a back operation last summer. But thanks to a direct home-to-school telephone hookup, she has been able to attend an eighth grade class at the Charles Leroy Lowman School for Handicapped Children, North Hollywood. By using an electronic instrument near her bed she can press a bar and ask questions of the teacher or just listen to the discussion by leaving the bar alone. Wednesday was graduation day for the 13-member eight grade class at Lowman. Judy couldn't attend the ceremony in person, so the ceremony came to her via the special hookup."
