Description
Photograph of a man sitting on a "box" chair reading under a tree at Bass Camp, Grand Canyon, 1900-1930. He faces the canyon rim which is only a few feet in front of him. Behind him and trailing down the slope below him are trees. A wooden plank with wooden "rungs" sits on a pile of rocks just below a vertical rock face nearby and below in the foreground. A metal post sticks up out of the ground on this side of the man. The Grand Canyon spreads out to the right with the flat horizon visible in the distance.
