This project was supported in whole or in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian. Made accessible through a grant from the John Randolph Haynes and Dora Haynes Foundation and Photo Friends.
Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated February 19, 1964 reads "What happens when you get some 40 cheerleaders from Valley high schools together? You have a cheerleader convention, naturally. And what do you do at a cheerleader convention? You get out and cheer, natch. That's what is going on in this photo, lending some doubt that all the participants shown above are hip on the same cheer. At any rate, it was a constructive good time and it all took place Tuesday at San Fernando High School."
