Description
Photograph of a view of North Outfall Sewer Repair, showing a WPA crew placing steel for a reinforced concrete blanket, May 18, 1936. The sewer is at right and is contained in a large open ditch. Thick wooden beams hold back the dirt above the trench while men lay thin steel rods over the top of the sewer. Many men can be seen standing around at left, while at right, three men are using shovels. Two large machines, possibly for pouring concrete, can be seen in the background at center. A large mountain is at right.
