Photograph of people pulling onions from the seed bed and preparing them for planting in the onion field at Petit Ranch, San Fernando Valley, near Van Nuys, February 3, 1930. A group of several people can be seen kneeling by rows of onions. A man in the left foreground is visible pulling some from the ground, while a woman behind him kneels and looks down. Several other people mill around the area, including a man in a dark hat, at center who sits beside a box of onions at left. In the distance, several other people can be seen walking around the field engaging in different activities. A row of tall trees stands by a roofed structure in the background, and mountains can be seen father down.
